People often ask, "What is it like to hear your
words spoken on stage?" My analogy is that it is not unlike
taking your clothes off in the middle of a crowded room. One must
consider exactly how much of yourself you wish to expose, and for
what purpose or gain. A trade-off. At first, one may be shy, but
eventually the thrill becomes addictive. And how exhilarated (Smug?)
I sometimes feel when the curtain opens and I know that for the next
two hours I get to stand on my soapbox and voice my opinions about
religion, family values, politics, morality, etc. and no one will
be allowed to talk back! |
