Two naked bodies
snuggle wrinkled sheets
asleep, entwined, awash,
in the morning sun
They are mine, purchased
with daring options
at endless crossroads
along skid-marked sidewalks
Signs read “No Loitering”
so I left
in an old blue car
youthful, invincible, ignorant
A knight tilting at decades
for a hundred years
on a piebald horse
ignoring the corpses Now stars shine down
upon my tiny life
and kiss their naked bodies
asleep, entwined, awash,
in the morning sun |
